Marrakech, Morocco Fifty miles away from the foothills of the snow capped High Atlas Mountains; Marrakech is a cultural and scenic ruby jewel in the desert. Djemaa El Fna Square is a medieval circus and marketplace with street performers, story-tellers, snake charmers, magicians, herb salesmen, the dentist with a pair of pliers sitting next to a pile of teeth, dancing bears, flavored with the smell of spices from the outdoor cafes. The medina (Old City) of Marrakech is maze of narrow streets and alleys with countless little shops, hanging dyed wool, tanneries, metal workers, carvers, tailors, and designers. Its a mecca for artisans. The events here include a camel trek in the desert, a trek in the High Atlas and a mystery event in Marrakech. |

Tarifa is a small town on the southern tip of Spain overlooking North Africa. Known as the place "powered by wind" our experience here is combining the wind and the water sailboarding between continents. No we are not traveling across the Straits of Gibraltar on a sailboard. Our experience will be in a cove near Tarifa. Although no experience is necessary, it is recommended one take a few lessons before the event. This is not a competition. Granada is the home of the impressive Alhambra Palace and Gardens. We will travel by coach. The experience will be a horse trek. |

Second Wind Pentathlon at The Rock of Gibraltar Overview Celebrating significant events, milestones, successes, and rites of passage is a joyous human expression of achievement that crosses all national and cultural boundaries. The Celebration 2000 New Year will be a global celebration of unimaginable magnitude. Until ocean explorers of new worlds set sail, conventional wisdom said that a ship passing The Rock would simply fall off the Earth. "Ne Plus Ultra" - No More Beyond. Conventional wisdom changes. Today The Rock is the Gateway to the Mediterranean and a Stepping-Stone to Africa. The Rock of Gibraltar, one of the most noble and recognizable profiles in the world, symbolizes strength and security and at the same times the passage into the unknown. The symbol for the ancients: The gateway into the unknown - The Pillar of Hercules A home for prehistoric man A safe haven for weary sea travelers A beacon which signals the point Between Africa and Europe, The Atlantic and the Mediterranean The symbol for contemporaries: The gateway to the Mediterranean - Bold, recognizable, distinguished Strength, security, self-government A melting pot of friendly people Second Wind is a useful metaphor and symbol that can be applied to anything that challenges us beyond a certain level. In sport, life and business, whether an individual, a city, country or a corporation, a second wind demonstrates vitality. It's when the company starts turning around. "It's a feeling of energy and optimism. Renewed and rewarded, resources appear to get the job done." Here is a message to challenge established beliefs about aging and/or just what can be done to get renewed life and energy in a company.
